TRIBUTE TO JOSE JOSE
On August 20, 2016 at the Veterans Memorial Center in
Redwood City, Casa Circulo Cultural presented us with another spectacular concert
– a tribute to Jose Jose.
Jose Jose is a Mexican
singer, musician and occasional actor. He started participating in festivals
and contests around Mexico City at a young age. "El Mundo" and
"Mi Vida" were the songs featured on his first single, released in
1965. He then climbed the most important Latin charts with "De Pueblo en
Pueblo," 1973's "Hasta Que Vuelvas," 1974's "Déjame
Conocerte," 1975's "Sentimientos," 1976's "Paloma,"
and the 1977 smash "Gavilan o Paloma."
Casa Circulo opened the evening with a beautiful video introducing
Jose Jose with a special voice message to Casa Circulo. The first song of the
night was “Oberrura” played on the piano by our very own piano teacher Javier Pacheco.
We also had performances by Rafael Turincio, Alfredo Gomez, and Sofía Rojas
with Raúl D’Mauries on the bass, Josh Rauber on guitar and Daniel Rojas on the drums.
It was a night to remember!
