TAEKWONDO at Casa Circulo Cultural

One of our biggest classes at Casa Circulo Cultural is TaekwondoTaekwondo is a Korean martial art, characterized by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques. Almost every student at Casa Circulo takes this class. We have three levels– Beginners Kinder, Beginners Youth, and Intermediate/Advanced.

About our instructor: Master Ortiz is 5th in the arts of Taekwondo and is a certified instructor by Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) and WTF (World Taekwondo Federation).  He is a national referee of combat and forms in the USA Taekwondo. He started his training at nine years old in Moo Duk Kwan Iztapalapa in Mexico City, and was also part of a youth team of Mexico, where he participated in two Pan American tournaments. Toward the end of the 1990’s he moved to California and underwent knee surgery as well as back surgery. After rehabilitation, in 2004, he began to teach Taekwando in private schools in Redwood City and Mountain View.

Our kids at Casa Circulo have been awarded many Taekwondo trophies and medals, the most recently attended tournament was the Nor Cal Tae Kwon Do Championship in Pleasanton, California. Five of our students attended, they received 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. They also received a trophy for Best Over-All School! *round of applause!*
